Hot environment but still enjoyable with the food

Our reviews

Overall:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Loy Kee Wan Tan Noodle is usually one of my favourite places to visit, but I had a bad experience there today. If it were my first time trying it, I would say that I wouldn’t come back again if their standard is always like this.

It’s too bad, maybe due to the late lunch hour today, they had already kept everything out for too long, but my order came out poorly made. The environment didn’t help either, as the place I sat in was without a fan above me, making me sweat while eating, which was unpleasant on a very hot day. I hope this won’t happen again on my future visits.

Parking can be a challenge as the surrounding area is packed with hawkers. It’s about a 50-50 chance to find a spot, and if not, you’ll need to make a big loop due to the one-way road. Unfortunately, there aren’t any other options available.

Despite these issues, I’m willing to give Loy Kee another chance. I’ve had many positive experiences at this hawker stall in the past, and I’m hoping that my recent visit was just an anomaly. However, I do have a few suggestions for improvement.

First, Loy Kee should focus on maintaining the quality of their food. I’m not sure what went wrong on the day I visited, but the wan tan noodle was definitely not up to par. They should take steps to ensure that the recipe is consistent and that the kitchen staff are trained to cook it properly.

Second, the management should consider investing in better ventilation for the hawker center. With Penang’s hot and humid weather, it’s important to have working fans or air conditioning to keep customers comfortable.

Third, the parking situation needs to be addressed. Perhaps they could consider creating a reverse parking route inside to solve the parking issue. This would make it easier for customers to park their cars without having to navigate the confusing one-way street.

Finally, the toilet needs to be cleaned and maintained more frequently. Customers should not have to walk to a dirty and poorly maintained toilet.

In conclusion, my recent experience at Loy Kee Wan Tan Noodle was less than satisfactory. However, I’m willing to give them another chance based on my positive experiences in the past. I hope that the management takes my suggestions into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to enhance
